You can write computer programs at a variety of levels ranging from:

Creating a program may involve a variety of different computer file types.

Languages such as Java, C++, and C# require a file that contains high-level language code.

A file that contains high level language code is called a source file.

With Alice, you create source code using drag and drop procedures.

There is no such thing as a true source-code file in Alice in the same sense that there are source-code files in Java, C++, and C#.
