Purpose of the statement

The purpose of the statement is:

• To test and determine if the userInputValue is within the range from 1 through 3 inclusive and
• To store the result of that test in the Boolean variable named testResult.

This statement appears for the first time immediately after the user enters a value into userInputValue and before control enters the while loop.

The same statement appears again later at the end of the body of the while loop.
