My name is Richard G. (Dick) Baldwin. For more than thirteen years, I have been a professor of Computer Information Technology and Computer Science at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas.
Austin community college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and operates under the purview of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
During the past thirteen years, I have specialized in teaching Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Java Programming, XML, Wireless Network Technology, and C++ Programming. I currently teach the following courses both in the classroom and on line via Distance Learning.
ITSE 2321 Object-Oriented Programming
ITSE 2317 Java Programming
INEW 2338 Advanced Java Programming
ITSE 1356 Introduction to XML
ITNW 1351 Fundamentals of Wireless Lans
COSC
1315 Fundamentals of Programming
ITSE
2431 Advanced C++ Programming
During these thirteen years, I have published more than 550 separate tutorial lessons and technical articles on OOP, Java, JavaScript, XML, Python, C#, Digital Signal Processing, and Wireless Network Technology I continue to publish an average of two new articles each month.
If your objective is simply to learn one or more of these technologies, I welcome you to study the material on this site completely free of charge.
However, if it would be beneficial for you to establish college-level academic credit by successfully completing accredited coursework, I invite you to visit the Admissions page on the ACC Web Site and to consider enrolling in a Distance Learning section (or a classroom section if you live nearby) of one of the courses listed above.
Because ACC is a publicly-supported community college, the costs are reasonable and are probably less than you would pay for the same courses at a commercial training company. (If you live in Texas, you may be able to get a special cost reduction by enrolling as a Virtual College of Texas student.)
The courses that I teach are approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for teaching at the community college level in Texas.
To learn more about how I teach these courses, visit my college web site. Follow the link to the course of interest and view the syllabus along with information regarding assignments, exams, etc.
